Actually 'Tourists go home' is a pretty stupid slogan if you think about it. The whole point about tourists is that they do go home. 'Tourists don't come again' would make more sense.

Surely a genuine nationalist would not be happy with an invasion of foreign migrants there to stay, but possibly overjoyed at folk popping over temporarily to boost their local economy ?

Majorca does as well as it does because of tourism, it's hardly being killed by it. Would they prefer an impoverished region isolated and struggling to bring work and commerce into the area ?

To me, this sounds more like the action of local dung stirrers.

Unsure what the police attack on British tourists was all about.

Again, I don't see why a poor economy is related to being left wing. Most left minded individuals I know, and whom seem typical to me, wouldn't want to wreck their local economy. I think you are confusing "left wing" and "hard of thinking", which are totally separate groups.

If it occurred in my neighborhood then I'd expect some liquor licences to be revoked and that'd put an end to it. Responsible bartenders, and well behaved tourists as a result, would be fine. An area reaps what it sows. Attract drunken louts, get drunken louts.

jno, I live in a seaside resort in the UK. We have this in our neighbourhood as it is a popular venue for stag/hen nights particularly from London given the easy train access.
