And deportations?
Question Author
If these men are British, its going to be difficult to "deport" them anywhere !

"Those prosecuted were from the Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Indian, Iraqi, Iranian and Turkish communities and mainly British-born, with most living in the West End of Newcastle"
Deport the ones who aren't British born.

Ummm....in principle, I wouldn't have any problem with that. We would need to make sure that they don't sneak back in again though.
I didn't know that we were so short of police officers, that we had to pay a paedophile £10,000 to expose these loathsome creatures.

But still it clears the police of being branded racist, I supose.
suppose!!!
AOG, what has a shortage of police officers got to do with paying an informant?
aog, //I didn't know that we were so short of police officers, that we had to pay a paedophile £10,000 to expose these loathsome creatures. //

That's not the reason that man was paid. It's common practice for the police to pay criminals for information and assistance.
Question Author
Like many, I am uneasy about the payment bit. But we now have 18 people in prison and without the payment, those 18 might still be at out there, abusing more girls.
The police have paid informants £20 million over the past five years.

My statement wasn't supposed to be taken seriously, I would have though anyone could see that, but then you were not the only one, so perhaps not.

I agree £10,000 is a small price to pay, but it makes one wonder why the police didn't know this was taking place. after all these mainly Asian gangs are operating all over the country.
## a Muslim spokesman was interviewed on tonight's news (don’t know who he was) and he said Islam must educate its men Not before time - in my opinion.#

Thats not a bad idea of his Naomi,

They could teach them how to buy a one way ticket, back to the Country's of their ancestors!
AOG, The police would know what was going on and would have paid the informant to find out who was implicated.
Question Author
This investigation was on-going for quite a while, so I think the Police did know what was what.

These cases are notoriously difficult to prosecute, as the girls themselves have to give evidence, as was seen in Rochdale.

Personally, I think the Police deserve a lot of praise here.
AOG - // My statement wasn't supposed to be taken seriously, I would have though anyone could see that, but then you were not the only one, so perhaps not. //

Perhaps it's because a thread about child abuse is not the place for levity?
Not entirely happy about the 10k payment etc but on balance plod did good and got 18 low lives off the street, let's hope the judiciary finish the job properly eh.
Regarding the £10k payment by the police to a paedophile, I think this is a classic case of the ends justifying the means.
No one has yet mentioned that disgustingly awful white woman, she is a disgrace not only to her gender but also to her race.
No real need to single one out, they're all vile.
