c) sell sell afore mentioned motors to cover the costs.

If the travellers care about their own then they would behave sensibly at the first approach. In reality it would be rare once the law is changed. I know of a council which uses a very simple method of moving the travellers on, whenever they move onto a site, council officials arrive with a lorry carrying large concrete blocks. The travellers are given an hour to move on or they will be blocked in, so far all have moved on.

If we were to adopt your ideas TTT how would we define 'traveller'?
In my mind it is impossible to define it in such a way that the legislation could not be used to 'remove' anyone who did not have a permanent non mobile home.
We would be able to force people off mobile home sites and holiday caravan parks, ban caravan and motor home owners from stopping overnight or even to rest for a while.
Laws once enacted get abused, the law that allowed the government to confiscate the passports of football hooligans to prevent them travelling to overseas matches has been abused. Non football supporters have been refused travel under it!

The council can't just wade into a site...they don't know who they are dealing with. Nor do the police. These people are often very violent and often own various arms. There are also lots of children.

I said in an earlier post....A whole town in Ireland shut up shop when they arrive.

They are not wanted and not welcomed in most cases...and I back that.

Having helped clear up when we eventually got rid of a group of travellers who invaded our village, I would support any proposal to stop them. They respect no one and nothing. Disgusting people.
