I know this has probably been discussed before, but I really thought this would have ended by now. Your thoughts please?

Talbot - //Rowlocks and Drivel. //

Another maturely thought-out and cogently delivered mature response - you'd better go and have a lie-down.

Plagiarism actually.
Regardless of where they were, who else would leave their child alone whilst they were dining out.
All the time there is even a glimmer of hope, I hope this tragic case continues to be investigated.

These poor poor people deserve some (to use an annoying American phrase) closure.

Barsel states 'neglectful parents' - blimey, I reckon I'm a neglectful parent as well then. I think I'm lucky that I have a 300ft garden, and I'm often at the end of the garden in my shed tinkering with my bikes. When I am my kids are in the house, and I wouldn't have the first clue whether somebody was coming in to the house to steal them. I must remember in future to take them with me.

Or, as I prefer to think, people like Barsel are uncaring unsympathetic truly horrible people.
Georgiesmum //Well I believe her parents sold her and she is in another country alive and well., why else would the parents have left the door of the villa unlocked and unattended.?//

Are you joking? Why would they sell her? And were their friends also trying get a bit of money by leaving their children in unlocked apartments, too?
Cloverjo - you have highlighted a complete and utterly moronic post.

If there was a prize for the stupidest, most imbecilic, most unthinking thick as two short planks post of the week, can I submit the following from kathyan;

"I believe she died, accidentally and they had to cover it up because they had sedated her and probably overdosed her. They couldn't afford to have a PM because they would have been struck off being Drs. I'm not the only one to think this btw."

Moronic doesn't even begin to cover the above statement - and she's allowed to vote!

Astonishing.
No need for personal insults, deskdiary.
^^^Really?

I think her post deserves a personal insult.
I don't think I'm normally as abrasive as my post about kathyan.

But it really really *** es me off the way people bandy about absurd conspiracy theories about the parent's of Madeleine McCann, and spout off about negligence and so on and so forth.

I can only speak for myself, but if I lost a child it would eat away at me like a cancer, and yet people are too quick to give their entirely unfounded opinions on what happened.

Frankly, the people that do, are (and I make no apologies for this) a r seholes.
Ah, I see - kathyan's posts accusing the McCann's of drugging Madeleine McCann is allowed to stand, but my post calling kathyan a moron for suggesting such a thing is removed.

Unbelievable.
Deskdiary are your children old enough to be alone in a house whilst you are 100 yards away.
I don't know if Kathryn is right or wrong but I do know that she isn't the first to say it

You can strongly disagree without being abusive.
I assume you keep your front door locked, deskdiary.

10ClarionSt - I think that's the issue for a large number of people.

HC - she may not be the first to say it, but equally she's not the first to be wrong about it.

Does anybody really, truly believe that the McCann's drugged their children so they could enjoy a glass of plonk? Or, sold them?

They are absurd theories that should be roundly and soundly ignored.
Deskdiary - //They are absurd theories that should be roundly and soundly ignored. //

Agreed - so shall we ignore them then?

It puts the thread back on track if we do.
^^^Yes - thank you.
Regarding the post in the Aussie press quoted earlier, there were lots of quotation marks and 'allegedly' in there.
Some of the British press mentioned the bodily fluids, found in the car the McCanns rented after she disappeared, that had a partial match to Madeline. Those would have been saliva, sweat, snot etc from her siblings. Not the decomposing body the gutter press tried to make us think had been there.
I give the article no credence, cloverjo.
