Looters Take Advantage Of Hurricane Irma

It is no wonder that so many homeowners don't want to leave their properties. I have just seen a video of the looters stealing just about anything that they can carry.

I know what I would do with looters. How would you punish them?

There are a variety of guns in our house. Never felt the need to shoot an intruder though, as I recall the last time I was spooked I armed myself with a stoneware piggy bank :-(

There have always been those who would take advantage of natural disasters. Looting is not a new crime - happened during both wars and not just in this country. Not sure about punishment - each case might be different.

It's not that Eccles...they should shoot looters on sight. That's what this disasters needs...some dead bodies floating down the street cos they nicked some trainers.

But AOG has hinted they won't be shot because they are black. So they should be safe!

That was my thought and if correct , hence the looters being black

Hey everyone - for a change, let's not allow certain elements to sidetrack this thread in such a way so as to air their racist claptrap.

It'll make a refreshing change - so let's just ignore them.

My view is that if the looting is done for essential life-preserving items (water, batteries etc), then that's one thing.

But I've seen pictures of looting from sports shops.

That's totally unacceptable, and is being done by people who are just opportunistic thieves.

maybe those looting peoples hard-earned possessions might like to come across a live power-line in the flooded yard of the place they want to loot?

Also, I heard on the news this morning that some 'looters' weren't relieving the owners of their property, just food to feed their families.
Not everyone has the wherewithall to finance stocking up in such a situation.

A bit different from arm fulls of boxed adidas trainers and flat screen TVs then. Note the picture. They are up to their armpits in flood water. Hardly a bit of shopping with attitude is it?

The people were swimming in chest deep water, and there were other people in the water, both white and black. I looked for the best picture. there were a million items floating in the water - we were right near a grocery store that had 5+ feet of water in it. it had no doors. the water was moving, and the stuff was floating away. These people were not ducking into a store and busting down windows to get electronics. They picked up bread and cokes that were floating in the water. They would have floated away anyhow."

Nothing wrong in calling a spade a spade, if they are black looters then they are black looters, one can't alter that fact, especially when they are see to be doing the looting.

And because I didn't know where the looting was as I assumed it was British Virgin Islands as the Government has come under fire over it.

I didn't realise they were actually American opportunist thieves...which they appeared to be (regardless of colour!)
