With Four Attacks This Year, Is It Now Time For The Terrorist Threat Level To Remain On 'critical'?

It seems pointless to lower the level just because there happens to be a period of 'no attacks'.
Or is this lowering and raising of the threat level, aimed to give the impression that the government is doing something?

/// The level isn't there to reassure victims, it's there to warn the
public. ///
And are not the victims also the public?
/// "Critical" threat level means there is a known attacker at large (or that the security services think that is the case). "Severe" means there is a high likelihood of attack from any one of multiple cells. ///
That may well be, but don't you think that it is better to be prepared for an attack by taking "Critical" action, rather than relax our security by going down to the "Severe" level or even lower?
Or shall we be seen to only 'up' our vigilance once the terrorists have struck?

/// But you can't maintain that without putting great strain on the resources of those forces, and most of the time it isn't necessary anyway. ///
Isn't necessary??????? with the level of terrorism that we are now experiencing, I think it is very necessary.
Friday's tube bombing was fortunately not so sever as it could have been, due to the fact that the bomb didn't go off in the way it was intended, if it had we could now be seeing the mourning of the deaths of hundreds of innocent travellers.
If our security forces are not up to the number required to carry out the vigilance now necessary, then they should be reinforced to the desired levels.

Time to accept the war declared on us and act accordingly. Intern all suspects and famillies if necessRy. Offer them continued detention until this is sorted or a ticket to a country they would prefer sho would also be happy to have them. In exchange for the passport and citizenship if the Cou try the hate of course.
Or we could send Jezza to have a cup of tea with ISIS. That should help.
Speaking of which anyone heard from JC Abbot or McDonnel?

One of the things you are failing to understand is that 'they' like this country just fine. 'They' don't want to go to a country more to their liking.'They' simply want to turn it into part of the Islamic Caliphate.
And it would be a strange country, indeed, which was prepared to willingly accept terrorists and/or murderers shipped out from UK and other western nations.
I'm not sure quite what the answer is, but I *do* know that interning innocent family members is as impractical as it is impossible.
