Yes, HCl I recall. The police were keeping an open mind. Could have just been fly tipping. Maybe this is a copycat case

I also assume that if caught the charge will be lower than using explosives ? especially if it is something that looks like an explosive but is harmless. I have heard for example that marzipan looks almost exactly like some types of explosive . So if they plant 15 Kg of marzipan what offence has been committed?
