With a few exceptions (e.g. gay rights and immigration), New Labour was to all intents and purposes the Tory party in a red suit. I posted a lengthy explanation on another thread on why people (or at least young people) are inclined to support Corbyn even despite the clear issues with his credibility and track record. I cba to re-write the whole thing but the...

38 years ?

yes the last Labour Government ended in 1979.
Let us hope and pray he doesn't.

It will be a very sad day for the UK if Labour regain power.
C'mon someone......put TGT out of his misey.
He's dying to tell you why it's 38 years......

But the answer is, No.
There was a reason His Tonyness adopted the pseudo Tory persona, that being that Middle England giveth and Middle England taketh.

Unless JC moves to capture the middle ground then it is highly unlikely he will take the Keys to No10.

Plus he is knocking on a bit now.
I saw JC being interviewed in Brighton this morning. He is so smug and disingenuous. He really is a creepy, dastardly sod.

He is also the most pathetically obvious liar I have seen in politics for a long time.
He is Baldric but May ran such a derisory campaign that he got away with it.

If may stays he probably stands a chance, if the Tories get their act together I dont think he will.
My hand is up ... can I say why it is 38 years?
I think he might well do.
If we don't get a 'proper' Brexit, I could see a lot of Conservative voters deserting them.
Time will tell.
Spice, as JC is looking to derail Brexit it is highly unlikey they would go in that direction.

Perhaps Mr Farages new Party will clean up?
Talbot, see my post at 14:21 and TTT at 13:49 for two very big clues!
They won't vote for Steptoe, ymb, but if they vote UKIP, other right wing parties/don't vote, he'll get in by default.
Anyway, it's a fairly long time before we have to face that possible disaster.
I didn't need the clues ... honest.
From the above link so you don't have to bother reading it

The Labour Party was most recently in government from 1997 to 2010 under Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, first elected with a landslide majority of 179, reduced to 66 in the 2005 election. Since leaving government the party has been led by Ed Miliband from 2010 and Jeremy Corbyn from 2015.

Ah bless Saint Tony and the Psuedo Tories. I'm talking about the actual Labour party eddie. Gawd even his Tonyness changed it's name.
If JC gets in it still won't be Labour in power by that argument.
