Colin Firth becomes an Italian citizen after being left 'horrified' by Brexit. How many more lives are going to be ruined before this stupid leave decision is overturned?
Kvalidir; I worked in the film industry even before the EC, never mind the EU, and we moved around Europe without any bother, we started a film in Pinewood studios, London, and moved the whole damn thing, sets (some), actors, technicians, everything, to Rome without any issues.
I personally travelled all over Europe simply on a British passport.. People who do not know the former times seem to think they are going to be stranded in the British Isles.
I too am applying for citizenship in an EU country as a contingency. Both my spouse and I have reached the decision that the future for our respective sectors are not likely to be good in the UK, so we are making plans to leave.
There are films being made all over the world. Places like Romania and the Baltics are way cheaper to produce even with actors travel costs taken into consideration.
Actors will still have a passport and still be able to travel. Perhaps like a lot of moaners they realise there will just have to be a bit more effort into production.
Kromo; The mind boggles at wondering what both your lines are that are to be so detrimentally changed enough for you to want to change your citizenship.
Well forgive us all if we don't have your faith in everything reverting to the way it was in 1965 Khandro, because I'm pretty sure it won't- then again I'm also pretty sure Brexit will never happen, so it's all likely to be a moot point. Happy days eh?
I'd be more inclined to considering leaving if Brexit doesn't happen as it would mean the democracy I'd come to love and respect would be no more, and without democracy our country would have lost what once made us great.
