Buckingham Palace was apparently furious to learn that Theresa May misled the queen over the status of her deal with the DUP after the election.
Are there any legal implications for this, or is it just a breach of protocol?
Follow-up question - May alleged to have been "in tears" following criticism of her after the election result. Any sympathy?

Crying and sympathy?
No, she made a power grab based on wrong intell, namely that Corbyn and Labour would lose massively. She blew a working majority, and had to go grovelling to the friends of loyalist murders, to cling on to power. Self pity is never nice to watch.

I'm unconcerned that May used the wrong wording; but misleading the head of state isn't good - obviously finding the magic money tree to buy up the DUP took longer than planned, but why on earth didn't she just say so? I dare say politicians do find honesty a tricky concept, but they should try extra hard when talking to the queen.
May has trouble giving a straight answer.
Even the Telegraph and Spectator rated her performance on the Andrew Marr Show yesterday as 'Embarrassing' and 'Unconvincing'.
