Buckingham Palace was apparently furious to learn that Theresa May misled the queen over the status of her deal with the DUP after the election.

Are there any legal implications for this, or is it just a breach of protocol?

Follow-up question - May alleged to have been "in tears" following criticism of her after the election result. Any sympathy?

"Are there any legal implications for this"
Of course not.

"Any sympathy?"
None whatsoever.
I have amused myself by saying out loud the phrase :

"... the truth is that the DUP bûggered Mrs May about longer than she thought.”

in the voice of our dear Queen ... I think the neighbours may be about to have me sectioned ...
I'd like to know a few things.

First, How on earth can a building be furious?
Second - A source said (name them)
Third - A Tory Peer - again, name them
Fourth, how on earth can the word *** get through swear filters
fifth - how long before go and visit SD in his padded comfy zone?
well, that answers one of them, apparently *** can but bug-ger can't
I give up!!!
Dave used a û (u-circumflex) to flout the rules - I am not encouraging this by the way.
The Queen was only p*zzed off because it messed up her plans for Ascot.

Crying and sympathy?
No, she made a power grab based on wrong intell, namely that Corbyn and Labour would lose massively. She blew a working majority, and had to go grovelling to the friends of loyalist murders, to cling on to power. Self pity is never nice to watch.
Tut tut!
^that was for Lynne^
What have I done?
thanks Mamya xx

And, to finally answer the OP, no, no sympathy whatsoever.
In my defence, I knew that the specific word would be censored and would then look worse than the actual quote from the ES - so I thought my minor deceit was acceptable on this occasion.
As per first reply.

No.

No.
"with one aide reportedly suggesting an SAS soldier be brought in to give her a pep talk."

I wonder what that talk would consist of....
I'm unconcerned that May used the wrong wording; but misleading the head of state isn't good - obviously finding the magic money tree to buy up the DUP took longer than planned, but why on earth didn't she just say so? I dare say politicians do find honesty a tricky concept, but they should try extra hard when talking to the queen.

May has trouble giving a straight answer.
Even the Telegraph and Spectator rated her performance on the Andrew Marr Show yesterday as 'Embarrassing' and 'Unconvincing'.
