Police To Stop Investigating Burglaries

I know burglary has been considered a low-level crime for some time now, but having been a burglary victim I can assure you it feels like anything but, so my question is do the police have their priorities in order?

I'm sure the recent £1.5m cost to come to the conclusion that Ted Heath would have been questioned will have Heath quaking in his boots.....oh, hang on, it won't, and that as Weinstein allegedly sexually assaulted some actresses on UK soil no doubt a vast amount of money will be spent investigating this even though there is zero chance of him facing trial in the UK.

I accept it's difficult to capture a burglar, but does it being difficult mean they shouldn't at least try?

Mikey, how come a few days ago when talking about something you want investigated you said the police had plenty of resources - and yet today you're back on your worn out old hobby horse?
Plod could cope if they went back to proper coppering, instead of all the trendy diversity BS. Persecuting cake shops and B&Bs etc.
Surely the police investigating Heath would be a completely different department to the police investigating burglary.
TTT....drivel. this has nothing to do with cake shops...its about a crime that has been around since the year dot....its called theft, and if the Police can't investigate theft, than we really are beggered.

Its not just burglary's that the Police can't cope with any more. Bring the Police up to strength again, and see what happens.
Mikey, can you please answer the question I posted at 09.32?
NB : Report dated 29th July 2015 ...

.. which doesn't invalidate the discussion, just gives it a bit of (pre-brexit) context ...
Yes Naomi....I already have done....

"Bring back the 20,000 Officers that lost their jobs, and there will be plenty of staff available for all those tasks (Danny)
Where does it state in the article that the police will stop investigating burglaries?
Mikey, I am not sure that your hypothesis re police numbers is valid. We used to police Bradford efficiently with a force of 500 men.
were you a boy in blue Danny ?
22 years Minty.
EEK..will have to tug the forelock and call you ossifer now !!
lol
Danny...if the Police Chiefs are now saying that they can't cope, then its time to sit up and notice.

I am not sure how long ago it is that you are referring to, but there are many more crimes available to be committed these days.

For instance, I wonder how many times any Police Force, anywhere had to investigate the theft of Mobile phones 25 years ago ? Or cyber crime ?
Pardon me Danny....sir !
Mikey at 10:03 .... no, you haven't.
crimes..like times..are a changing !
I was burgled twice in my old flat. It was about 25 years ago. The police turned up a few hours later, but I didn't expect an investigation beyond asking the neighbours whether they'd seen anything.

I didn't expect anything more to be honest, because unless there are witnesses who could've provided a description of the culprits I couldn't see what the police could've done.

House to house enquires?

Taken DNA swabs from the window sills?

Ordered the CCTV from every local business and have a taskforce devote hours looking through them?

Phone Miss Marple?
Theft of mobile phones is no different to any other theft.Cyber crime is investigated by specialist units, not by local forces.
Naomi...if your Tory Party would restore all those Police that they got rid of, then we would be in a much netter position that we are now...that should be obvious to everybody, even you !
