Timing of government announcements
Did anybody else read anything into the fact that the government made a big announcement yesterday about edcuation, and the Conservative spokeman Shadow Secretary of State for Education & Skills is David Cameron?
Were they trying to give him a platform in the hope that he'd win the Tory leadership race as they feel he's no threat? Were they hoping to find a chance to make him look weak/bad because they think he IS a threat? Or was there nothing in it!
What do you think? ALL views welcome! :-)

Apparently he's the messiah sent down from above or in his case eton to rid britain of the evil blair and his heretic sidekick brown..according to itn news, the bbc and the daily mail etc that is, mind you don't know how trustworthy their sources are. I'm sure they are impeccable..in the best traditions of our media.
ludwig - I think we could have an entire thread on the shake up to be honest. Education today is not perfect, as your sarcastic post suggested. Right now though, I was more interested in the subject of my question. Sorry.
surfer mike - I assumed Labour would fear Blair, and your thoughts confirm this. I heard the phrase "out-Blair Blair". Scary thought... but it might be about to happen! Eeeek!!!
