As the article says, support for Labour rose by a point in the same poll.

As the article doesn't seem to say, because they never do, one poll on its own tells you pretty much nothing. Especially if, as in this case, there are more people undecided (35%) on which of May and Corbyn is better.

If you were going to read anything into this, then it seems that the public has at least a modicum of sympathy for May's struggles, most of which lately are about failures of others, and are prepared to stick with her for the time being. Which if so is fair enough, because I'm pretty sure that a General Election any time soon is the last thing people want.

I do wish newspapers would stop getting excited about one-point changes between polls, though.

55% think May is doing a bad job as Prime Minister, but that is a 4% improvement on last month when 59% thought she was rubbish.

Needless to say, the Express have chery picked the best results, and ignored the bad ones.

The Express, along with AOG has chosen to cherry-pick the bits from this Poll that suit them. Labour is still ahead when it comes to popularity of the Parties.

The CONs have not got the guts to call another general election , right now . They are not very good at timing are they , and they know that they would lose this one .

Despite their poor sense of timing the have come out with the most seats by some way in the last 3 elections though gulliver.
I respect your belief though in Corbyn- I too was an avid Labour supporter when I was 19-20 and I was on the left of the party so would have loved Corbyn, but looking back I was a very naive idealist with no real idea of how the economy and society worked. You may feel differently.

Nope.

2010 - They needed a coalition with the LibDems.
2015 - A tiny majority.
2017 - They needed a coalition with the DUP.

Hardly Thatcher and Blair electorial success.

I think we know what was meant: more seats than any other single party.

All that matters is the most seats over 326, and the Conservatives have been short of that in two of the last three general elections, so boasts of ‘the most by some way’ are meaningless.
