What would happen if an Israeli visited one of the banned countries?

well they wouldn't get past the border. Mostly though they would be prevented from flying etc from the departure point. TBF though your link is talking about countries that wont let you in if you've ever been to Israel with any passport.
this is really old news - it's been the case all my flying life. Israel used to offer visitors the option of getting their visas stamped on a separate sheet of paper rather than in their passport; I don't know if they still do.
This sort of thing happens all the time, for instance if you had a Cuba stamp they wouldn't let you in the US. Resolution Cuba didnt stamp the passport!

A basic rule of travel is always check your destination for various things. If you choose to rock the boat then dont be surprised when all hell is let loose upon you. And dont expect Consulates to come running. They wont.
Cubans stamp your passport now but as far as I know the US no longer cares. Trump could change his mind on this, I suppose.
As you say jno the USA no longer cares. I was just illustrating the issues for travelers have been for a long time. This is nothing new.
In the UK, at any rate, you can have two passports. If you want them and can afford them. Each one can have different stamps/visas/work permits. In the past I have owned two separate passports, both valid, for exactly this reason.
I worked for a company in Saudi Arabia many years ago and at the interview I was asked if I had a stamp in my passport for Israel and if I did then I would need to get a new one or I wouldn't be allowed in. As it happened at the time I didn't have one but a few years later I did in fact couple of them.
