Mamy....if you read her life story, you will see that her misfortune started long before Profumo.

I know about her but thank you.

Precocious child of the 60's were you Mikey, a child by my reckoning, 6 to 16,
I am sure her friend Mandy would say something along the lines of "Well she did, didnt she". RIP.
quite a life.
She sure did have quite a life.

RIP Christine.

RIP, Ms Keeler.

I remember the scandal and the film of that name starring the lovely John Hurt (RIP) as Dr Stephen Ward.

I remember my Mum and Dad being much interested in the whole affair....little boys were very good at listening to sotto voce conversations at the tea table !
Now that makes me feel old! R.I.P. to a lady who lived her life.
If anything is a sign of how things have changed, the differing attitudes to politicians' bad behaviour - and their atonement for it - is contrasted sharply between then and now.
Judge? !!!
saw that yesterday, strange to think of her as old, as we are always shown her photos in her heyday.
It's a fair enough question that New Judge puts, gulliver1.

Specifically the section marked 'Trials'.
I was 12 when the Profumo scandal broke, and for me and my peers, the name of Christine Keeler was a by-word for all that was glamorous and exciting. For our parents, it was everything that was tawdry and scandalous. We weren't even allowed to read the newspaper reports about it, but of course kids will find a way . . .
model ? NJ

ay class moh-dell and not a prozzie
we all have images to portray of ourselves

I never thought she was more than a tart who kissed and told and told and told .....
and was a bad chooser of frenz - one of her boy frenz went after someone with a shot gun and did time for it. Even in the fifties that isnt keep-your-head=down-and mouth-shut stuff
I only really knew about this after the event from parents and the papers. According to my mum she was a high-class 'call girl'. There's a term you don't hear much these days.
// little boys were very good at listening to sotto voce conversations at the tea table !// mikey
and little gurlz too hur hur hur

we had more of the view - adults had younger friends who didnt keep their mouths shut and what did the adults expcect for chrissakes

she was quite good over 50 y in portraying herself as a victim
much better than Mandy R D or Pamela Bordes or Antonia Sanchez - who came over as aging tarts who needed intgerview money
A pretty girl led astray by lusty men - they would wouldnt they?

RIP
