The threat was made on Twitter.
it's this sort of thing that makes me so glad I have no presence on twitface et al.

sp. I was pointing out that this started with the Labour MP's in the commons, as stated in the article.
Andrew Griffiths MO for Burton jokes about care homes on national TV, and then is shocked when he gets hate mail.
If these people were not so out of touch, they might realise that they are being viewed by all of society and not just their supporters.
Not excusing the vile messages, whoever they are from, but can’t help thinking that he brought this upon himself, so no sympathy from me.
On that I think we an agree TTT....I rather think that Dave Cameron got it right about Twitface.
what about the death threats and those to his wife, have you no sympathy for her at least.
Whatever flag or wing they purport to act under, there have always been vile and sick individuals.

A friend had her Babies Grave desecrated multiple times plus hate mail and phone calls at 3 in the morning.
Emmie,
I have already said I am not defending the vile messages.
But if Griffith’s mocks people in care homes while he knows he is being broadcast live on national TV, then no, not surprised he got hate mail and no sympathy. It is unfortunate his wife was targeted, but I guess she knew he was an MP when she married him, so knows that attacks by trolls would be a possibility.
The police are investigating so there may be some prosecutions.
disgusting.

And the spark for the attacks?

'However, the Conservative MP was not referred to by name by Mr Corbyn, was not rebuked by the Speaker, and his identity remained a mystery until Labour MPs named him on Twitter shortly afterwards.
That was the spark for a torrent of abuse from thousands of Left-wing activists. At first, the threats were targeted solely at the MP. Then his wife came under attack on her open Facebook page after the trolls discovered references to her by the MP.'

It's odd that a least one poster on this thread hasn't asked sp to stay on topic, or start his own thread on right wing abuse, or asked him if he is trying to stifle debate.
What did he say that mocked people in care homes? All I have read is that he called Corbyn 'elderly', which is a simple statement of fact. He is the same age as me and I take no offence at the term. He will be 73 by the time of the next election if this parliament runs its full course.
There are vile people of all political persuasions in society

You cannot he held responsible for an individual's views

Saying that the Labour party is responsible for this sort of behaviour , is frankly ridiculous
Question Author
Bazile, have you read the article?
I see. So Momentum has nothing to do with the Labour Party!
Keyboard warriors hiding behind a screen and username. Sadly its become 'normal' now and I see it on a daily basis on FB, Twitter and Instagram.
tigger
all the more reason to abstain from using those vile places, if that is the sort of abuse one could get.
I've read the link and agree with Bazile. Other than "professionals", nobody represents anyone other than themselves.
I agree Emmie, I should avoid them but can't help myself.
