The UK and Europe have had had similar laws re discrimination, harassment and incitement of violence since the 90s ... No one had been prosecuted for using the wrong pronoun.

Anyone (christian, jew or muslim) who uses a two thousand year old book of fairytales to justify breaking the law, deserves to be locked up.

The UK have had transgender human right since 1999, and we have had the Gender Rocognision Act for over a decade. All working fine without any fuss for donkeys years.

All that is happening now, is that some American States and now Canada are rather belatedly catching up with us and adding transgender to their human rights anti discrimination lists. That has been leapt on by far right groups, usually with fundamental christian leanings to come out with nonsense about big fines for using the wrong pronoun. No one as ever been prosecution in the US or Canada for such an offence.
