Not being a drug user, I don't really have a much of a view on this really, but it seems to be growing (!) all over America in recent years. I wonder what Trump thinks ?

With six US states - Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Alaska and Nevada as well as California - having legalized cannabis, one in five Americans can now legally purchase the drug. From the link.
>>Despite this, the federal government still regards marijuana as illegal, classifying it alongside heroin and cocaine as a proscribed substance.

I know TTT is not going to like this but my view these days (was once upon a time ardently against it) is that we need to review what things are illegal. The two that spring to mind are weed and prostitution. Whilst ideally both should not be done being realistic it will not go away in the near to medium future and possibly never so why not legalise it, tax it and regulate it.
Banning things a lot of the pubic want is never a good idea and only leads to a rise in organised crime - just look what prohibition did for the Mafia in the US!

A bit off topic I suppose, but I can remember staying the Lodge at Bryce Canyon ( a truly beautiful place, by the way) and being told that I couldn't have a glass of wine with my meal in the wonderful main dining room there, because I already had a half-finished glass of beer in front of me.
When I queried why, I was told that in Utah, you were only allowed to have one alcoholic drink at any one time !
As you said Eddie, America is probably the strangest place I have ever been.

//Totally against its legalisation personally. Not every user will find a few puffs makes them horizontal flower gazers. It has a psychotic effect on certain types that is hard to ever reverse//
So does alcohol but that's legal. My son smokes weed and while I wish he didn't, Id rather that than become dependant on alcohol. I don't see many people starting fights after a toke. I say legalise it. I find it ridiculous that people can get a criminal record for smoking a plant but not for consuming alcohol which (in my opinion) causes far more damage.

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe you have to be 21 to buy or drink alcohol in the USA, but in most states the age to buy / own a gun is lower than 21. When I worked for Aramco in Saudi Arabia I was one of the very few 'Brits' in a department of Yanks mainly from Texas. They were amazed when I told them the legal drinking age in the UK was 18 , it was 21 in Texas. They were all gun owners/enthusiasts back home as well.
