Yes, awful. Personally I am against caging animals unless there is a real necessity.

Very sad, however I have no objections to a zoo that looks after its animals properly.
Just recently Belfast lost its longterm resident Elephant Tina, who was rescued in the 60's from a pet shop in Manchester!!

fires can occur anywhere, hopefully this is just a tragic coincidence

I do struggle with the concept of zoos. Half of me feels they shouldn't exist and the other half feels that if they look after the animals well and protect endangered species, then they should carry on.
Two fires does seem a bit to coincidental, doesn't it? Hopefully, that is what it is.

I repeat, according to a zoo spokesperson the fire is believed to have been caused by a faulty generator. (post at 13.19)

Manta, could be many things, could be a grudge, jealousy, extortion or an insurance job but it’s still too early to speculate.
