As I said on a previous thread TTT. //Poor Jeremy has a lot to be "timid" about at the moment. Notice the distinct lack of comment regarding Iran, never mind his reticence when it comes to European matters. After his ploy of encouraging the youth of Britain to take to the streets and demonstrate he is very reluctant to applaud the young people of Iran who are...

Here's a lesson (literally)
Thanks for that Khandro,

Rich four by two-ish merchants will be laughing their loaves of bread off at that.
Corbyn is an Islamic plant, a sleeper. All the lefties are paid by Mecca, and their job is to undermine western democracy and pave the way for the Islamic takeover.

To arms, citoyens.
Only the English!
Keep ya Barnet on Gromit.

It's actually a difficult one to call at the moment. At what point does a protest become significant for a regime change? If you jump too soon you risk the egg in the face when it is all quashed, on the other hand where people are being persecuted then not backing them makes you look complacent.

Middle East politics is a complicated beast, probably best left alone and certainly th West need to keep out of it.

bainbrig: "Corbyn is an Islamic plant, a sleeper. All the lefties are paid by Mecca" - I had no idea the bingo hall chain was involved.
more than that, ymb, all calls for regime change in recent years, justified or not, have gone pear-shaped. Corbyn's wise to stay out of it. Britain as a whole should do the same, but they think arms sales are more important than a foreign policy.
Re Washington causing the Arab spring, that is nonsense Gromit. Egypt, Tunisia and even Libya all had regimes that the west was getting along with. And even Syria, Russia’s only ally in the ME, was seen as a stable and powerful force it was thought better to tolerate. Syria was frequently a peace broker and negotiator, most notably in the Lebanese hostage sagas. We turned a blind eye to the brutality of all those regimes, even the mind numbing barbarity of ‘peacetime’ Damascus.
Why does Corbyn say nothing about Iran? I suspect the reason is simply because he is his natural mentality to see or at least only to speak out against the west as it is a lot more fun that way.
Why has Trump been slow to speak out against any autocratic regime after he’s had the fill flattery treatment from them?
That worries me more, even if my contempt for Corbyn’s attitude is high
I believe it’s possible to voice an opinion on the Iranian regime or any other regime without committing oneself to ‘regime change’!
Loved the Twitter feed posted by Kromo.

Corbyn has been hoisted by his own petard.
Corbyn thought that Iran was where Ira had gone to. (^_*)
Two hundred years ago our ancestors would have gone to Bedlam Hospital to laugh at the antics of the mentally-ill, with their bizzare attitudes and absurd ideas.

Now I can come to Answerbank and view the same, the repeated gibberish of the eight or nine fellow-falangists, not a genuine thought between them.

Progress?
Is that you admitting your mentally ill bainbrig?
You’re (tut)

"Two hundred years ago our ancestors would have gone to Bedlam Hospital to laugh at the antics of the mentally-ill, with their bizzare attitudes and absurd ideas. " - now we have the Labour party for that.
Zacs. Read the words, rather than make things up in your head.

Toratora (and those heroes who lent you their name didn't quite achieve victory either). Quote me, but don't miss bits out.
I did read the words bainbrig, you wrote ‘to laugh at the antics of the mentally-ill, with their bizzare attitudes and absurd ideas’ Nothing made up.

I simply thought it rather ironic.
