danny...perhaps Labour haven't been slapped down in the Courts over important issues like disability ?

The Government can afford the best Lawyers in the land, and yet they keep losing in the Courts.
They did not lose anything in the court, they decided not to contest.

"Ministers pressed ahead with the proposals despite criticism from an independent tribunal in 2016 but the High Court ruled shortly before Christmas that they were "blatantly discriminatory"

"My department will now take all steps necessary to implement the judgment in the best interests of our claimants, working closely with disabled people and key stakeholders over the coming months," she said, adding that all payments would be backdated to the effective date in each individual claim"

"blatantly discriminatory"......Sounds like they lost to me Danny !
not sure where this leaves me, whether i am due any extra money, will have to wait and see.
glad they came to their senses, the government that is.

Glad for you Emmie...let us know if you are better off as a result of this climbdown.
i currently don't get PIP but DLA which hasn't had any increase for a long time. Will let you know...
They'll be looking at the claims they refused for the extra PIP, hopefully no one should be missed.

//DLA which hasn't had any increase for a long time.//
Neither has millions of workers - but they won't be getting a payrise anytime soon!
for their sake i hope so, its hard enough to get imo
Islay you don't know me or why i get DLA, i worked all my life, right from 16 and paid my dues so to speak, i am not sure why you needed to be so rude.
Not being rude stating a fact.
If its rude then a MOD will remove it.
DLA is in the process of being phased out for most claimants, ushered towards PIP.
I know mamy, i have been waiting for the papers but nothing has come yet.
Like all changes it's taking longer than anticipated.
i know, it may be that they will leave me alone or to last, who knows..
I have to agree with Islay. Millions of workers have not received any increase but they will end up funding this.

It's not rude to point this out, it is a very simple and obvious fact.
