There was a guy from Northern Ireland a few years ago who kept one of these magnificent beast purely for the purposes of entering it in shows.
He had also trained it to take part in the percussion section of his local flute band.
It never won first prize but on one occasion a special category was created for this handsome and talented beast.

Having lived in Saudi Arabia I know for a fact that there are Camel 'beauty' contests. It's no different from a dog or cat show here. There have been cheats at dog & cat shows. So I'm not surprised there are the same at Camel shows, especially with the high cash prizes on offer.

I don't think it helps make them better looking anyway. I like to see a camel with a few laughter lines, and the ability to move it's facial muscles.

That's the kind of camel I'm attracted to.
