Of course they are, that is why they use "Brownshirts".
Few politicians (of any persuasion) are particularly keen on democracy. It sometimes hinders them in their quest to do what they want.
But they are socialists and outside the normal understanding of 'Labour', that's what socialists do, they interfere with anything which they perceive as contrary their warped outmoded ideology.
