I do hope they are NOT given the death sentence. This is what all Jihadis look forwards to ( spare virgins etc ) Let the US have them, it would appear that is where real sentences are doled out.

when people are tried and sentenced they (may) go to prison. There is no trial before going to Guantanamo. It is not a prison ( where you have rights surprisingly ) - a place where you go after being tried and sentenced
Guantanamo is not one of those
Guantanamo ( this bit is about what it is ) is a detention centre where there are no rights, the courts have no power and where torture takes ( or took ) place. You go there without trial ( or any judicial process ) because erm it is not a prison.

But I'm guessing this lot weren't quite brave/fanatical enough to fight to the death.
As I said earlier, I'm so disappointed in the Kurds for not topping them and saving us hundreds of thousands in a trial and subsequent porridge(or halal meals etc).

I wouldn’t keep them alive out of spite or in revenge, which is what that amounts to. Who cares what they want or expect? The world would be a better place without them.

Already it seems as if they are covering all angles if they get sent to Guantanamo Bay.
