A leaked draft of a negotiation document for Theresa May states that the government's aim is to prolong the "transition period" indefinitely.

Should we believe the government when they say that the transition period will have a fixed date? Or is this a means of preventing Brexit and keeping the UK in permanent limbo?

One hopes it's fake as otherwise the issue woukd have to be tackled again when a responsible government that believes in democracy, gets in. Still it underlines the continuous need for UKIP to stick around. Personally I don't think that there should be a deferral period, let alone a possible permanent one.
More "leaked" documents.

//According to a threat contained in a leaked Brussels document, the EU wants the power to restrict the UK's access to the single market during the transition period.//

I wouldn't believe anything May has to say; she might mean it at the time but be forced by the Tory backwoodsmen to change her strategy tomorrow. The list of abandoned policies is a long one.

This isn't to blame her, except for her broken pledge not to call a snap election: it's her party who are at each other's throats, and her back.
The trouble with all these 'leaked' documents is that five minutes later there is another denying what has been said in the first. It's hard to know what to believe.
I think Mrs. May needs reminding that 'fine words butter no parsnips'. There is a feeling of deep unease growing in the country, I can feel it.

Some young lady on Ch. 4 news tonight (a clip about new Remain party) was in Cambridge with a clipboard. I heard her say 'Those people up (it may have been 'in the') North don't understand how damaging Brexit will be '. Feel despairing.

They still don't get it. We know it will cause short-term damage - but the goal, long term is more than worth short-term pain.

Right now I don't know who to believe, but I hear murmurings that it is time for a mass 'Pro-Brexit' protest march. People feel that they have been patient long enough.

Is it "hard to know what to believe" though? I accept that the government seems to constantly change policy because it has no strategy. But a minister denying that something which makes his government look bad is, surely, to be taken with a truckload of salt?

Also what's with the scarequotes around "leaked"? Has this document not been given to the press without formal announcement or publication?
More fake news, like the civil servant's recent report on how Brexit would be a financial disaster and they now say it was a mistake based on false figures.

The truth is that nobody - not even May, knows exactly what the end result of negotiations will be.
Oh well lets face it ,we aint never ever ever going to get out , looks like we will have to stay in the EU , or at best, only get out partially, OK thats the end of Brexit,
time to move on now.
There are usually two reasons for 'leaked' documents.

1) IT is a genuine leak orchestrated by someone who disagrees or who has a grudge.

2) To test the water, ie let it get out, if public reaction is fierce then claim it was never true. This has been done my successive Governments of all colours in the past and I have no doubt in the future too.
OMG, The Tories have sprung a leak, PMSL.

Both of those scenarios qualify as leaks.
Kromo; //the government seems to constantly change policy because it has no strategy.//

Really? They all seem to be singing from the same hymn sheet today;

It's to be hoped so, Khandro.
