To be honest she should be prosecuted, I think that is clear negligence. the child had been to the Drs several times in five days as she was so poorly, and she couldn't be bothered to even look at her notes. Heinous callousness.

How often does one see a doctor or dentist within 10 minutes of the appointment? The officious woman at the dentist's reception once told me that I was late, didn't want to know about the accident, jams or delays. She wasn't happy when I asked loudly if patients' delays were covered under the Freedom of Information Act.

Appalling the Doctor should be struck off.
But this is just going to cause more people to go to A&E rather than a GP. (Which in this case I think would have saved her life.)

Drs have to make decisions every day of every month of every year....some you get right and some you get wrong, the overwhelming result is that you get them right and nothing more is heard of you. Children (emotive subject), young adults, pregnant women, the aged are all subjected to this "human lottery."
BUT....on the odd occasion that a Dr gets it wrong, particularly a child. then it is headlines..SHAME....poor patient...poor family....BUT ..any thoughts for how the DR feels and the prospect of living with that one mistake?
No.........I thought not.
Every doctor has made mistakes.....some you get away with......some you don't.

I see what you are saying Sqad but when an emergencey appointment was made surely red flags would be up and you would at least glance at the persons notes, especially a child?

Sorry but I think this particular doctor needs to be struck off and maybe even prosecuted.

YMB....an emergency appointment very rarely, if ever equates to a medical emergency.
if a true emergency, then clearly an ambulance would have been called.
Prosecute her....strike her off...that would just leave one less doctor and a gap for the NHS to "cobble up."
