Just somebody practising Webbo? I suppose it is only treated as serious if the designated perpetrators are involved when it comes to "official" news .

\\If everything that made the local news was also expected to be covered nationally, news bulletins would last all day, and nobody would watch them. "There was minor damage to a garage door in Stockport" is hardly going to be of interest to people in Edinburgh, London, or Brighton.//
I would call a nail bomb fairly serious.

Of course it's a nasty occurrence and more so if you live there but with the best will in the world not everything can make the headlines.
There have been awful things happen here (Bolton) over the years and not all even made the local news.

Ta Webbo. I did wonder whether a "cryptic" answer would carry. Still they wonder why we doubt the methods employed to misinform us are treated with suspicion and disdain. The Leicester explosion that resulted in death for innocent people is now attributed to "petrol". Meehh. Petrol was but a small ingredient in the process being carried out.
>they've not explained why a nail bomb would be being tested
Who - the BBC/Sky? Or the Police? I'm not sure where their investigations are uo to but maybe they prefer to conduct discreet enquiries at this stage.
They did say the matter wasn't terrorism related- but i don't know why they bother because that usually leads to "well they would say that wouldn't they" comments from those in the know
