OG, //If you deport foreign criminals won't foreign countries send ours back too ?//
The percentage of Muslim prisoners in this country is disproportionately high. How many Brits do you think are incarcerated in Pakistan, or Somalia, or Afghanistan?

Possibly also to do with the number of people being put on the sex offenders list for what amount to minor offences. This then clogs up the system and undermines what the list was intended for.
Having said that it is nigh on impossible for Plod to keep track unless you put 3 officers a day on each offender.

"I'm pretty sure there would need to be a law to facilitate such a system."
There already is. It's called the Immigration Act, 2014. That legislation provides for the removal, after their sentence has been served, of any foreign national sentenced to a term of twelve months or more.
I think the recourse to the law which fender would like to see restricted is that available to the deportee. I'd like to see a similar restriction. The mechanics of such deportations involve the Home Secretary revoking their licence to remain in the UK. There should be no appeal available against that administrative action when a person has been properly convicted and sentenced.

I'm wondering wherther this thread is conflating several issues. First I'm not at all sure why ending foreign aid and deporting foreign criminals would be the cure for the problem of police losing track. The problem may be down to all sorts of factors, such as incompetence, poor liaison between bodies, criminals clever enough to disappear, police being overstretched or prioritising the wrong things- but I can't see what foreign aid for one has any relevance. Okay deporting criminals might free up time but it would bring its own problems. So whilst i wish foreign aid could be cut i don't see the relvance here.
Second, what do we actually mean by foreign crimials. Those here illegally or with foreign passports or within the first few years here- yes, if we can get countries to take them. What about those who have been here 10 years, 20 years. Are we counting those born here? Probably not but one poster has conflated foreign criminals here with Muslim prisoners so maybe that's what some have in mind. If so, how would that work? (Answer- it wouldn't.)

fiction-factory, //one poster has conflated foreign criminals here with Muslim prisoners//
That’ll be me. Conflated perhaps, but a fact nevertheless and offered in response to the suggestion that the number of British criminals in foreign prisons somehow equates to the number of foreign criminals in our prisons. Unsavoury to your ears reality may be, but reality it is.
