I would like to think they have come to their senses but they have used diplomatic avenues before and promised things but have just gone back to form when they don't get what they want or because of a 'perceive' slight.

And why do you think that NK should denuclerise and USA should not?
I don't think it's up for debate that this meeting was suggested *to* Trump by South Korean envoys, after their meetings and efforts with North Korea. So yes, I don't think Trump has had much to do with this. Not yet, at least.

Even the meeting between the two would, presumably, be a front for the more meaningful efforts between officials. Isn't that normally how it works anyway? Would be a little dubious to rely solely on a meeting between two (very!) unpredictable people if the groundwork hadn't been laid beforehand.

thriving economy happy populace..or stay with china ? who knows

keyplus, you can hope. ;o)
I have to give credit to Mr Trump.

He worried me with his words on NK and Kim, but he has got to a position his predecessors didn't manage.

So Naomi, you also believe that NK should destroy all their nuclear weapons and USA need do nothing about theirs.
