Great to see so much world wide support for responding to Russian aggression. Thanks.

Difficult to see any other country with the motive, nor the track record. And to top it all the reaction from Russia was exactly what one would expect from some bully trying to pass blame on to everyone else, including the abused country. And in the other direction it's not easy to think of a reason to blame Russia if the culprit was some other country. There's...

Certainly is.
Even Hungary!
Russian news programmes have been running stories to the effect that Theresa May actually invented Novichoks (I’m not kidding) and even that the British were behind the Keremovo fire tragedy.
Kemerovo ...
May must've been busy then.
Lord knows how she found time to pull the wool over the eyes of all those worldwide leaders/parliaments.
So what they're saying is that in retaliation this vicious old witch went to Siberia and set fire to a complex killing a load of kiddies. As has been said many times before, you couldn't make it up.
But do the Russians watching it on their telly in their sitting rooms believe it?

That is actually the important thing. Because if they believe it or can be made to believe it then Putin can do anything he likes in retaliation. He is after all just defending Russia from the nasty west!!

depends what media they are permitted cassa, no doubt it's nailed down to Putin propaganda for the most part but they have the net etc, hopefully they will be getting some independent sources.
Let’s hope they can get AnswerBank for a nicely balanced view.

I reckon Putin is a regular already.
Da!!!
The beeb has been going on about absolute proof

whereas i thought it was an open-door argument:
" if you dont support us - you will be next!"
and they all thought - oo-er she's right !

Tonight's Beeb effort - "Are there reds in gas marks under YOUR bed?" - - sorry Russian Spy Assassins
said there was some idea that Novichiks were undetectable - but shove it into a gas chromatograph and it will give a signal ....

Theresa May has laser eyes
and can set fire to building by looking at them
Seriously, any hard evidence that would stand up in court?
I think circumstantial evidence only up to now.
Likely etc.
Not defending Russia, just interested.

Well theland, it's enough to convince most of the civilised world.
Theland, Mrs May showed the evidence to the European leaders who were obviously convinced.
As also a sceptic of the evidence it is a pity it cannot be openly shared with us the public. After Bliar's methods of getting (dirty dossiers) us to agree to go to war it is the least they could do.

However, given the countries now supporting action it would appear there may be some substance in the allegations(although I do suspect the US is using a golden opportunity to rid itself of known (but not provable) spies)
But we aren't trying to go to war here.
I am struggling to see what sort of ulterior motive the UK could have for apportioning blame without being as sure as is reasonable.
I suspect the "evidence" is to a large extent technical and chemical, as well as the very powerful circumstantial.
It isn't as if the general public would know chemical formulae for this particular class of agent and be likely to go "ah yes, of course!" and presenting whatever such evidence, apart from being likely to interfere with the analysis by independent scientists, would in any case be unlikely to satisfy anyone who wants to believe otherwise, because tossing conspiracy theories around is just too easy.
There's enough evidence there for the case to be answered properly, the accused are showing that they are unable to do so, which convinces most.
