Don't know about the music AOG but would definitely agree that something needs to be done about the rising gang-culture amongst black males. Enoch Powell's prophecies are coming true. Not quite 'rivers of blood 'yet but it won't be long.

Nope. Whilst not a fan of Khan and his crew, whoever was in charge would face the same issue.
Not unless he’s been doing the killing
Murders in London 2017 - 103
Murders in New York City in 2017 - 290*

2017 saw record low murder rate, the lowest for 70 years.
In London,
2015 - 113
2016 - 110
2017 - 103. So the murder rate is actually going down, albeit, marginally.

What the Mail has done is take one particularly bad fortnight in London, and compared it to a good fortnight in New York.

The headline says the rate is now worse in London, but then the article says
// March, is likely to match if not beat out New York's numbers. //

New York should be congratulated on such a drastic reduction.

Sorry, that was meant to say...

* 2017 saw record low murder rate, the lowest for 70 years, in New York.
Misleading news as opposed to fake news from the DM .
I think the 2017 figure for London (103) might actually be a 50 year low. The previous low was 105 murders in 1970.

In 2003 there were 204 murders in London, so they have nearly halved.
not over this, I think we can accept a blip in these stats.

/// New York should be congratulated on such a drastic reduction. ///

Typical Gromit congratulate a foreign country, whilst not showing any concern over serious matters taking place in his own country.
AOG,

I thought it might be provocative to congratulate Khan on the lowest murder rate for 48 years. I noticed you didn't do it.

So well done the Labour Mayor of London, and congratulations on being part of halving the the rate from a high of 204.
If the usual suspects don't seem concerned over this, is it any wonder the authorities don't seem to be.

Seems like the Asian grooming gangs response from both quarters yet again.
If I thought for one moment that the killings would stop if Mr Khan resigned I'd be all for it.

However that's far too simplistic a view.
AOG,

The death rate has fallen from 204 in 2003 to 103 last year. Nearly halved.

Far from the authorities not being concerned, they are making progress in the right direction.

You are being fed deliberately misleading information, and you want to believe it because you cannot stomach Londoners democratically elected a coloured, asian, muslim Mayor. Get over it.
Well two responses have been made, "should Mayor Kan resign," and blaming the Daily Mail's reporting of this fact.
Yet strangely no one has dared to approach this problem of black on black killings, why is this?
Dare I suggest more stop and searches in these areas, more CCTVs and more police patrols, ending in more severe sentences for carrying a knife or gun?

While taking about deliberately misleading information:

We may be far distances apart in our political thinking, but please don't make up things, I have never said that I cannot stomach Londoners democratically elected a coloured, asian, muslim Mayor.
Dare I suggest

more stop and searches in these areas
- already being done[i

more CCTVs
[i]- there are already enough. More than can be properly monitored.[i]

more police patrols
[i]- The Government have cut 10,000 police officers.[i]

more severe sentences for carrying a knife or gun
[i]- There are already length sentences, but that is not a deterrent for some.]
I don't know which way this will support whoever's arguments but comparison of murder rates between countries/cities mean nothing unless you do it per capita - which those figs up there aren't are they?
Population of NYC is similar to population of Metropolitan London. But there again figures may not be of much use since most people only work in those areas in both cities.

Personally I dont care what figures say. With the numbre of killings in the past couple of weeks I wold expect Khan to come out get on the front pages and push for action on this and the moped issue.

But then, according to him, it's all part and parcel of city life.
if only he would, can;t stand the man to be honest
Police operational matters are the responsibility of the Met commissioner, and the mayor can’t fire him or her.

So no, he shouldn’t resign over cherry picked crime rates, but he should definitely step down because emmie doesn’t like him.
