What about the parents of this littler boy and future parents of ill children in the future?
I don't see why she should be granted an appeal just because her colleagues demanded it, it would be the same if an MP was dismissed and he/she was granted an appeal on the request of their fellow colleague MPs.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Something perhaps those outside the medical system may not understand is the extreme reluctance of junior doctors to as for a consultant review. They feel it is a black mark against them, a sign of lack of confidence or competence. I know of a number of junior doctors who were in this position and if their consultant is a barsteward who does not like to be disturbed were absolutely petrified of the reaction they would get. It was often the senior nurse on shift who would get involved and offer to take the blame for the call.
