She looks a fright - and yet now she is awaiting pioneering surgery to stop her face collapsing - no doubt at the expense of the taxpayer!

I've never tried it but had an American ex who said it was the best high ever. I'm talking the party type you snort through dollar bills - not crackheads. Off the top of my head I can recall it in films as a very hip glamorous thing to do - Demi Moore in St Elmo' fire, Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface, Sarah Michelle Geller in Cruel Intentions - there must be 100s of 80s/90/00s films showing cocaine being taken at parties etc in a quite acceptable manner.
Daniella moved (or aspired to move) in those circles.

''If you saw a poor homeless man on the floor with no nose and you KNEW it's because he spent a load of money on drugs and snorted them all up his nose you'd have no sympathy.''
That is a hateful and grossly inaccurate generalisation of the people here Spathiphyllum, you don't know that about anyone here and it is certainly untrue about me, I don't care what someone's social state is, my sympathy extends to all.

It’s a shame about the OPs ‘no doubt at the expense of the taxpayer’ comment. I can find no evidence that her surgery was on the NHS.
If it was, she wasn’t alone:

Zacs, she claims to be penniless and on benefits so how could one imagine she's forking out for surgery herself?
Garaman, stop being so petulant. I don't for one minute claim to be perfect, nor have I said "it serves them right" ... I simply don't feel overwhelming sympathy for them. There are far more people out there who deserve sympathy.
