Naomi, indiscriminate planting of undercover officers in mosques etc does not seem a very efficient way of countering terrorism, and ,as it turns out, nothing came of it.I doubt that they would have enough officers to cover every mosque and school in New York anyway.

danny, I doubt they would have enough officers to cover all mosques and schools but there is a common factor here and that shouldn’t, for the sake of diversity, integration, political correctness, or any other reason, be ignored.

there isnt one ( that is acquittal on the grounds of "they did it in the best possible taste". )
In the case of the secret policemen impregnating the protesters - when the chief constable said nothing to do with him, they went after the employees themselves. that is the victims did NOT say - "o yeah ok we will put up with it for the greater common good"

danny, no I'm not advocating that and that isn't what I said at all. What I am saying is that if the police (and everyone else) are aware that a problem emanates only from a particular section of society, which this one does, they should be keeping an eye on that community - not apologising for doing their best to keep the public safe - law-abiding Muslims included.
