I'm sorry if this might sound uncaring Why on earth are Britain getting involved in a conflict thousands of miles away? So what if Assad uses chemical weapons, why do the UK have to get involved? It is going to put us at risk of terror attacks, and God forbid Nuclear War. It is not our problem? Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy are not getting involved

100% agree ..... we should not get involved, this sort of major decision should be put to the people to decide.
Have we not learned a lesson from Iraq, Libya etc?
Personally I don't think war is ever the solution. I don't know what the solution is.

Someone has to stand up for these people, to stand by and allow them to suffer is wrong on so many levels. I thought that we are a 'christian' country - we can't stand by and do nothing.

This does not mean war
A war, just like the one that is coming soon, is prophesied in the Bible.
We got involved in the First World War. We did not have to. Look how that turned out. Our so called leaders are easily misled, ego, power, stupidity, stubbornness, arrogance, take your pick.
I think Theresa May is doing the wrong thing. War has never solved anything and I hope if it does happen, she can take the repercussions.
If war is not an option what is?

Come on everyone. What is it? What is going to stop tyrants and dictators from killing their own people and then perhaps moving on to other nations?

Give us a heads up will you. Sanctions haven't worked and diplomacy obviously hasn't either so.. what?
How many of our brave military were sacrificed to boost the politicians ego? NOT IN MY NAME!
//So what if Assad uses chemical weapons//

Seriously??
i also believe we shouldn't go to war, there has to be a better way.
If only, Emmie. Monsters like Assad only respond to one course of action.
all that happens is more civilians are killed and in the light of the fact that hundreds of thousands have died already, then surely we can do better than bomb them
Either one has the moral fortitude to stand up to someone gassing fellow human beings or one does not. Failing that, there's a more selfish reason to do the right thing; if one wants the support of allies one needs to support them when they make a stand.
Civilians will be killed but that's the harsh reality of war.

Imagine if we hadn't stood up to Adolph Hitler.
i know but the scenes of the people being gassed are incredibly disturbing, i know that its likely Assad was behind it, but to go to all out war with him seems wrong, we are getting involved in something that could escalate into a wider war which surely no one wants.
When Hitler invaded the Sudetenland Chamberlain remarked, quite rightly in my opinion, "Why should we get involved with a faraway country of which we know little?"
I agree NM.
The alternative, Emmie, would be to sit back and let him wipe out an entire population.
The window of US opportunity to remove Assad is closing fast, this 'chemical attack' is a farce (don't be fooled by the footage) and is a last fling, desperate attempt at regime change. The real issue is, and has always been (as I have said on here 3 years ago) about oil, viz, the proposed pipeline from Qatar across Syria and onwards through Turkey to the Med. and Europe, which Assad and Putin do not want.
Now, when Tony Blair took us to IRAQ . He was called a warmonger and should be put on trial according to the members of the Con club on answer bank .
No One want's war , but if we do back the Yank's, What will the A/B Cons say about TM? { They will probably put the blame on Jeremy Corbyn.}
that's what I was thinking, Gulliver. Following the USA into a Middle East war hasn't turned out too well in recent times.
