bad idea.
I wouldn't mind.
I am not fond of 'Days'..... This one would mean nothing to much younger people and those of us around at the time of his murder will always remember..particularly those of us who are in or near Eltham.
Not a bad idea, an extremely bad idea. His mother has done very well for herself out of her son's death.
Absolutely and totally ridiculous....this just smacks of the typical leftie pc pandering and kow towing we see these days to "the effnic commoooniteee" that the snowflake generation have a fondness for to try and assuage their "guilt".
There are more more worthwhile people or reasons that could be found if they want a day of rememberance.

Why not a BH for Lee Rigby , why not Winston Churchill, Sir Tim Brners Lee etc etc etc etc Zzz...
Not good IMO. Where does this stop? Why aren't there other people's days? Can anyone give me an a day named after an ordinary person where it's held annually? Very strange conception to me ... Why set a precedence!
No. What about all the others? What would they be hoping to achieve from this?
I think there's been a convention of virtue signalling saps somewhere and their leader has had a big idea.

Will we all have to congregate on motorway overpasses and lob flowers at passing cars or just stop and stand in silent contemplation of a dastardly deed until somebody blows a whistle?

Ill thought out and will cause division and resentment but I suppose that's gesture politics for ya.

Crikey, i didn't realise that Theresa May is a leftie
Words defy description of this charade. One thing I will say, it has destroyed any credibility of belief I had in Mrs May. Yet another bad and unnecessary decision on her part. I speak as a dyed-in-the-wool Tory.
Not a lot - very, very bad idea. I really think that Mrs. May is 'losing it' in a desperate attempt to gain popular appeal.
Not a good idea, you can't just pick one death to commemorate.

It sits uncomfortably with me.
She's already lost it. Maggie Mk II she ain't. It's only the presence of Corbyn which keeps her in power.
While the murder was of course awful what about the number of "white" people who have been murdered by Blacks or Asians, or Muslim people. Don't they count?

This is one reason why the "white" indigenous population of this country are sick to death of the pandering to the ethnic community.

Why not a day for those killed and injured in the Manchester bombing, or the London 7/7 bombing, or the London Bridge attack.

Or Hillsborough, or Zeebrugee, or Aberfan.

Or maybe a "general" day for all those killed or injured in any sort of conflict, be it local event, or a major disaster.

But a day for Stephen Lawrence a terrible terrible idea.

I am also a Troy supporter but I think May should resign for suggesting this.
>>I am also a Troy supporter

Whoops - Tory supporter.
"His mother has done very well for herself out of her son's death."

Do you not think she would rather have her son alive still, given the choice?
I don't see a problem with it.
It'll not be compulsory to join in so if you're not in favour of it, you'll be free to go about your normal day.
You don't see a problem with it? Kindly explain why one murder victim should be singled out of the multitude of others for commemoration.
