I watched the bride arrive and then I went out shopping. I missed the sermon and the rest of the service, but I'm not bothered about that.

The pomp and pageantry were splendid. At least we haven't lost our identity completely. When I read in the papers that 'white supremacy' is [thankfully] breathing its last breath now that a bi-racial woman has married into the world's most famous white family I wonder to myself, is it a crime to be white these days?

Harry looked nervous but so completely in love. His bride looked beautiful and her dress was classic and elegant, but a tad boring.
**WAS splendid.

Gimme more coffee and my grammar will improve.
Didn't get to watch it.
Lovely – except for the embarrassing American preacher who prattled on far too enthusiastically and for far too long. The Queen and Philip didn't appear to be too impressed, Beatrice and Eugenie did well to stifle their giggles, and Elton John's face was a picture!
I had no intention of watching it but the OH had it on and I ended up watching nearly all of it, and quite enjoyed it to be honest. The only bit I missed was the second half of the American preacher's address when I decided I would rather do the washing up.

Lovely images to send around the world I thought.
I caught the odd bit but I thought er indoors was watching Kenny Everett when that happy clappy preacher came on! Gawd how did he get in?
I really liked the preacher. I thought having a proper southern/African-American style sermon was a very considerate way to welcome the mother's side of the family. I found it more affecting and energetic than the droning monotonous bilge one normally gets.
Krom. Absolurely, much better than the normal old/boring/predictable sermons from the usual bishops Matthews weddings . :-)
*** at these weddings ".
agree, Kromovaracun. Pointing out to an old Afghan hand that he should study war no more was apt too.
anneasquith //Loved the american preacher :-)//

Wish I'd known the happy clappy bloke was going on for so long, could've made my breakfast ;)

What's wrong with the long veil? Kate's train or veil was 25 feet.
Ah the joys of diversity.
Ah, I knew 'diversity ' would surface before too long , on this thread
I thought Prince Charles an absolute gentleman. Not only did he step in at the eleventh hour to walk Meghan to Harry, but he took her mother’s hand when they went so sign the register, and left the chapel with Camilla on one arm and Doria on the other. To hell with royal protocol. Well done that man! A happy day made happier by the abandonment of the usual stuffiness!
Loved it, loved it, LOVED IT !!

Prince Charles has gone right up in my estimation.
I thought it was lovely
