...middle class coke users - according to Justice Secretary David Gauke.

Should those taking a little wrap for their friends at fashionable dinner parties and high end clubs feel any guilt when some random teenager is murdered over a drug turf dispute?

Or do you feel that there is no connection between the end user and the supplier?

Don’t worry...I’m sure service will return to normal soon.
I'm not sure that the gang culture that is leading to the increase in knife crime is necessarily drug-related to the extent that Mr Gauke suggests.

My perception is that carrying knives is a badge of 'courage' - you are not 'hard' if you don't carry a knife, and of course, you can tell yourself that you are carrying it for protection.

The problem is, carrying knives leads to using knives.

But I am unsure whether this is an asopect of gang culture per se, or gang culture connected to drug supply.

Without some evidence, the JS is in danger of making a sweeping statement, which may come back to bite him, but I would hope that in his role, he knows more about these things than I do.
Yes, he's right.
What came first, the chicken or the egg? Still if it manages to lay the blame for hundreds of black youths killing each other at the door of white "middle class" males, job done innit?
Simple buck passing. Without supply no one would get hooked in the first place. No one forces turf wars, it's down to supplier greed alone. Theirs is the guilt, theirs the responsibility.

Nobody is suggesting this is the only cause, but it’s disturbing that some refute the link completely. The suggestion is that this is ONE of the reasons behind drug gang turf wars.

...the end user.
You could argue that the Colombian marching powder taking middle classes are doing us a favour by reducing the number of drug dealing scum on our streets.

Well, it’s as sensible as the original proposition!

I certainly don't refute the link, but I am not sure that the Butterfly Effect link is anything more than a soundbite, with little meaning behind it.

It’s not a butterfly effect when the user is buying from the seller.

The butterfly effect would be a valid description if the buyer was removed by degree from those selling drugs.

That’s rarely the case here.
Don't forget the white people who make and sell the knives to black people. (sometimes without a safety warning, I wouldn't be surprised)
//One Of The Causes Behind The Increase In Gang Violence is ... according to ...Justice Secretary David Gauke".

Interesting question which assumes at least the possibility of intelligent life in the "Conservative" party.
Yes, he's correct.
