There are too many links to know which to post. But a few stats here...

//They aren't the same, nailit. There are individual differences of course, but overall, women are far more affected.//
Sorry Pix, but NO!
Some statistics would help. I see far more men sleeping on the streets after release from prison. I see far more men who loose contact with their kids after prison.
Emotional responses dont cut it here Pix. Hard facts would though.
It isn't about what you see- it is about what happens. There are some statistics above, but there are hundreds on Google to the point I don't know where to start.
Pix, that link is just about women. I could post a similar thing about male prisoners.
What we need to be objective is a 'comparable' list.
Pixie is entirely wrong. Couldn't be more wrong. Any justification (or spin) for women receiving lesser sentences than men for committing the same crime is completely discriminatory.

If you had to explain to a child what sex discrimination is, this would be a very good example.
Women already have an easier time when it comes to the law

//29% of male first-time offenders were sentenced to custody. For women, that figure was 17%. Men have a 62% chance of being bailed, while for women that figure is 80% and on average men serve 53% of their sentence but women serve 5% less than that//
