The EU are willing to delay a project and increase other member states costs just to prove a point that doesn’t need making.

We might as well just trot off now rather than go begging for scraps from an organisation that would rather cut off its nose to spite its face.

yep true colours emerge.
They get worse. Just heard on the news the fuss they're making about the Irish border. 'No deal' isn't ideal but as time goes on it's clear they're willing to push more and more for it. One wonders why we continue to try.
I can see trouble ahead, let's face the music.
EU wants control of EU projects; more at 11.
Even if it spites their face.
Jim, //EU wants control of EU projects//

How come you understand that so readily and yet don't understand that the majority of people who voted in the referendum want the UK to have control of its own affairs?
You leave the gym - you don't get to use the equipment
You cancel your Prime membership - you don't get the benefits of being in Prime
You cancel your Sky - you don't get to watch sky.
Only a Brexitoddler thinks that if you leave the EU, you should still get all the benefits of membership.
And when you leave the asylum, you hand back your straitjacket.
(someone else told me)
TheChair - if someone insists on me continuing to fund their club (even though I've officially left), then I'm damn well going to use at least some of the facilities.
Short memories.
Twice Britain came to the rescue of Europe.
/// Twice Britain came to the rescue of Europe.///

But this time, instead of staying in and rescuing it again (which we could if the will was there), the coward element has won and has us running away. Well Done Little Englanders, I hope you relish the results.
Not the best attempt at an informed and intelligent analysis.
The "little Englander" sneer for example.
David Davis says so, so it must be true.

Is that the same Davis who vowed to resign if his chum Damien was sacked? The one who said Britain would be near completion of a wide range of trade deals by, er, last September? The one who said trade talks and Brexit talks would run side by side?

I trust him absolutely!
The Galileo satellite navigation systemis due to be completed AFTER we have left the EU.
We have resigned, took our ball home, left the community, legged it.
Why should we reap the rewards when we have voluntarily thrown in the towel.
Long before the "Common Market", posing then as a trading arrangement, morphed into the EU - a political project which wants to eliminate sovereign states and create a federal Europe controlled by a self-selecting and self-perpetuating bureaucracy - post-war European nations were freely co-operating on matters of shared interest. NATO? Interpol?

I don't know that Galileo is one such. Some rule that only EU members can be subscribers to the Galileo project?
Galileo is a joint EU-ESA (European Space Agency) project.

ESA members Switzerland and Norway (non-EU states) are funding partners of the project.

2003 China joined the project before dropping out in 2006 to focus on its Beidou navigation system.

2004 Israel became a partner in the project.

2005 Ukraine and Morocco became partners in the project

It makes perfect sense for the UK to not participate.
Hey Canary42 - Ever heard of democracy?
Why would we stay without that vital element?
Galileo is Europe's alternative to GPS which is US owned and built. It promises to be far more accurate. It was built and financed by the European Union. We are leaving the EU, so we won’t be part of the project anymore.
The European Space Agency, which we will remain part of after brexit, was the contractor tasked with launching the satellites. Their job is now completed, all the parts of Galileo are now in space.
So basically, by opting out of the EU, we have opted out of the benefits of this new system.
I assume the UK Government will have to pay to use it, and UK Telecoms will pay more to license its use than their EU rivals.
We have quit the club so we don’t get to use its facilities for free anymore.
The UK won't be a member state anymore. This limits the information/data the EU can share with it. Galileo includes sensitive civil and military data, which cannot be shared with non-members. If the UK was not rashly ruling out participation in every European project and organisation under the sun to appease extremist Tories, this would not be an issue.

Also, David Davis is a liar. He is one of the most singularly untrustworthy people in UK politics - second only to the PM herself, perhaps. This is clumsy spin for a decision that makes perfect sense from the EU's point of view. In fact given the UK govt's behaviour it is difficult to see how they could have made s different one.

Bluntly, this is yet another thing that nobody gave any thought to during the referendum campaign.
