I read of his death earlier. A talented writer and story teller. I enjoyed his programs...full of colourful descriptions and equally colourful language.

Drugs and Drink - only 61.
Sad, very sad. He was a talent.
Not someone I'm familiar with but that's very sad.
Very sad, RIP.

Sorry, but never heard of him.

RIP anyway
Neither have I.
He's a chef who done travel programmes where he'd try local food all over the world. Very interesting because his programmes were also about cultures.
Never heard of him.

More than a foodie - he was a trained chef
foodies are people who like to think they know about food but wouldn't last 2 minutes in a professional kitchen

Should we now only put RIP's up of those that you have all heard of?
If you haven't heard of him what's the point of commenting. If you really want to comment then remember Google is free to use!!

We, the never heard of him posters are as entitled to post our views as you are to post yours, it is an open forum.
I know that but it's pointless.
But at least you said RIP.
"If you haven't heard of him what's the point of commenting."

The point is to demonstrate that many reports of deaths in the media relate to people of whom few others have heard. I don't think I'm alone in having never heard of Mr Bourdain. Instead of the in the national press/telly, Mr Bourdain's demise may have been better covered in a more restricted way, say by means of an obituary in "Fancy Chefs' Monthly" or whatever specialist publication is appropriate.

It is equally pointless to post "what a great guy, RIP" (or similar) but I wouldn't criticise anybody for doing so.
I didn't know of him, but still sad.
