Work and Pensions Secretary David Blunkett has insisted he will not resign, telling The Star newspaper in Sheffield: "I have done nothing wrong.".

I also saw this on t.v today, what is wrong with his eyes? is he blind? (no i dont live in a cave, i just dont keep up with the news very much at all)

It's SAID he's blind, but it's to cover his body language.

No eye contact = he's lying.

If you look at him most of the time he's staring off, evading the gaze of the people he's lying to. Sometimes he tries to distract them with his friendly black dog.

It all seems to be a bit of a mess, does no-one else feel that there's been a bit of a witch hunt where David Blunkett's concerned. Somebody(s) wanted him out and they've got it. I think if you looked hard enough at any single politician or indeed businessman you'll find something wrong. I'm not defending him, it just seems like someone's gone out of their way to single him out.

And gingerflaps, in the nicest possible way sweety, if you didn't know David Blunkett was blind, you need to read a newspaper or watch the news now and again!

Yes and No, there has but it because the current government when in opposition were constantly on the backs of the Tories about their conduct and said when they were in office they would be whiter than white.

Get a feeling sometimes that if one of these public figures topped themselves or got blown up by a bomb...there'll be some rejoicing.. how sad some people are.

I wouldn't say a witch hunt... but then my image of what he's like come from the newspapers.

In quite a mix of papers during his last days, for some time before, and still now, he seems quite bullheaded and just not that nice.

Maybe the media all invented or picked up the same stereotype for their witchhunt, but maybe it's true.

It's the fact that when he resigned I think he went around on tours telling people "I'll be back in a short while" or something.

It just seemed like he didn't take it seriously - that the resignation didn't mean anything & was just keeping his head down until the storm had cleared.

englishbird, i do mean watch the news but when the polititions come on i switch over, there all too boring for me. I will glance at a paper if its lying around in the work canteen, but i never know what to belive in them. but thanx for your answer anyway
