Seems the police were not interested but still seems OTT surely an MP has to accept critism especially if said MP is going agains the wishes of their party and their constituents?

dunno why she'd go to the rozzers, what crime was she saying had been committed? Perhaps her own treachery?
No one has been threatened with anything. The MP reported her.
Another DM headline spins the angry mob into an unnecessary frenzy.
Depends on the precise content of the email but, on the face of it, I'd agree that the MP massively overreacted.
That wasn’t the question tho, Jim.
Well, not the original one ;-)
yes ZM but why does she think plod would be interested in a less than complimentary email? On that basis the entire news section of AB should be reported!
As Alf Garnett would have said, 'Silly Moo' (the MP, that is).
I wonder if it was she who over reacted or the person she employs to sieve her emails? Either way OTT but if she did it, its personal, if an underling did it without her knowledge its stupid but cock up not conspiracy
I’ve no idea, Tora. But the fact remains.....no one has been threatened with anything.
'I have reported this to the police'. You don't find that threatening? I see one safe Tory seat falling to Labour at the next election.
There’s a subtle difference between the person being reported’s fear of a visit and someone actually threatening that person with a visit. See the difference? No one has been threatened.
I think it sounds threatening too....and in my experience, the police think so as well. When I was being harassed by a neighbour (hammering on my front door and shouting at me) and I took my problem to the police, I was told that if the neighbour returned then I should inform them that I had taken the matter to the police and would do so again if their behaviour continued.
Hopefully the police are treating the reporting of a strongly worded email with the contempt it deserves.
They seem to be.

Usual pedantic nonsence ZM.

An elderly law abiding woman WAS threatened with the police.
however you want to spin it. Perhaps you get many visits from plod so dont consider it a threat but most would.
That MP isn't fit for office. Stupid woman.
This issue has been badly handled, either by the MP personally, who ought to know better, or by the MP's staff who have over-reacted to a criticism.

By definition, the job of MP is not one for the thin-skinned, and either this MP or her office staff have done no favours for herself or her colleagues.
Voters should be aware that criticism of MPs is 'robust' when delivered by the posh and 'threatening' when ordinary citizens are involved.

Plebs do get a dispensation on the run-up to elections where the workshy troughers may have need of their crosses.
