Gena Turgel dedicated her life to telling and retelling her story over and over again, to young people. Her aim was to stop us forgetting the Holocaust.

So few left now to carry on that work, but it is still so vital.

I saw her many times on TV, telling her story, and I have been dismayed by the number of deniers and disbelievers who still exist. I hope her testimony has had some effect on our present generation of young people, but sadly I fear that they base they beliefs on other influences.
Gena Turgel had a long life and hopefully a pain-free death: something that so many of her generation were denied.
Rest is peace, Gena Turgel. I hope your legacy is never forgotten.
