Excellent, we need longer sentences for creatures like this, but equally we need to empower girls very early on so they don't become prey for people like this. I'd like to see designated anti grooming lessons put into place in schools, along with better school counselling services and more effective preventative measures generally. These animals target very specific types of girls, who are vulnerable to it, so let's make this a double edged sword of harsher punishments and better preventative measures.

It would be good to think so jack, but as I have opined on another thread, I don't think sentences actually deter criminals, because no criminal ever thinks they are going to be caught.

In this instance, and others like it, there is a cultural attitude to be overcome, and that takes education, which costs money, so it doesn't happen.

Wives and daughters are fine until they bring shame or disgrace on the family whereupon their value and treatment goes down to the level of goats.

Whitey is already shameful in behaviours and so is seen as fair game.

Several reasons. To begin, Islam considers women less worthy than men and the property of men, but when it relates to non-Muslim women some consider the way in which many white girls behave and dress as immodest and therefore deem them trash and hence legitimate targets, taking delight in abusing and humiliating them. I think they will, Anne. Lots of the cases were historical so now they know the girls have a voice it might them think twice.

Just such a project was proposed - and binned - over ten years ago, Kvalidir. It came about because of a liaison between child exploitation groups here and in Holland. The Netherlands had the same phenomenon of "localised grooming", but with a key difference - their grooming gangs were African.

Indeed. However, the common factor remains consistent.

The 'common factor' is an inability to respect other people, and that is where the education needs to come in.

When I referred to education in my post, I meant to say that it is young men who need to be educated in terms of respect for other human beings, rather than the education of young girls to avoid the behaviour that results from those attitudes.

I think the notion or rape is based on power and control, and that is universal, and not simply confined to one faith.
