but imported imams can spout firebrand islam in mosques to the faithful, but i guess thats ok with some, anti western vitriol alive and well in the uk, as long as we have social cohesion from the, what is it now 3 million muslims..mosly unemployed as well

You do realise that latest research suggest that the Neanderthals were not quite as previously depicted?
>3 million muslims..mosly unemployed as well

Well give that unemployment in the UK is under 1.5 million I doubt your figure very much.

Your link bears no relation to that 'fact'
The trouble with freedom of speech is it allows all sorts of people who have a frail grasp of situations and who have massive prejudices to air their skewed views. ah-hem.
You dont have to be registered unemployed to be unemployed.

However having said that I'm not sure there are any accurate figures on unemployment by ethnic grouping.
Yes it does ZM.

So let them say their piece and than counter it with a well reasoned argument (no name calling doesnt count).
But what if the people your giving a well-reasoned response to don't have the nous to 'get' it and they go off at a ridiculous tangent which has very little to do with the argument.

You know....like suggesting Windrush was a catalyst for mass uncontrolled immigration? summink like that.
We let in firebrand imams and people like that but have a right wing thought in your head and you don’t get a look in.

It is all very well saying with freedom of speech comes responsibility etc etc but that applies to everyone. Not just right wingers.

But where do you stop? You can’t shut down people you can but counter what they say with a more compelling argument.
>You dont have to be registered unemployed to be unemployed. However having said that I'm not sure there are any accurate figures on unemployment by ethnic grouping.

Okay YMB.

Zac there will always people on all sides of an argument that won’t get the opposite view. However just because they are opposite doesn’t make them any less valid.

It all comes down to how liberal or not you are. And how much you don’t care about freedoms. Some are more free than others.
You will always have that problem ZM, so is your answer to shut everyone up who you think is a rabble rouser?

And in your case you rarely give a reasoned argument, generally all you write are snide, sneering comments, plus, although I actually dont agree with what was said, AOG did not say a catalyst he said it was the 'start of'.
Liberals dont want to hear other peoples views as they consider them uneducated and wrong.
youngmafbog, that statistic was from the link and not my own op
perhaps it's all the praying and fasting puts off potential employers.
but imported imams do preach hate specially wahhabis, buts that ok as were good buddies with the saudis, not to mention Madrassa indoctrination classes, but thats fine to, they can hate us all they want as long as they do not make trouble and erm kill any people.
I thought the whole point about taking 'our' borders back means that we are not obliged to let every Tom, Dick or Harry, through....

Especially if they are known to have an agenda which will do nothing but cause additional agitation (something I think we have quite enough of in these islands without letting 'foreigners' in with their funny opinions).
As far as I am aware they are not stopping so the 'take the borders' back is a bit far fetched.

For the record, I dont want to see them and I dont support what they say but stopping people with views you dislike just fuels the groups that share the same views. I can just imaging the far right meeting rooms now whipping up the hysteria over gagging.
The conference (April) went ahead without them and is described by them as successful.

I've given plenty of reasoned arguments on many subjects, YMB, as you well know. Snide remarks aren't without use in your arsenal either.

As for the difference between a catalyst and a 'the start of'............
>3 million muslims..mosly unemployed as well
Okay Fender, if by unemployed the link meant" not economically active" the figures are right for women but are closer to one third for men.
For women that's a bit above th UK average for all groups but for men it's inline with or below the UK average.
But I'm not sure what that tells us or why you even raised it.

But i do agree that there is some anti-western vitriol among some groups here. I still think it's better to keep out those we know who will spout vitriol on either side if we can spot them beforehand.
'However just because they are opposite doesn’t make them any less valid. '

Erm....yes it does. You think arguing that Windrush people don't deserve a ceremony in Wesminster Abbey is a valid argument?

You still on about that then?

So tell me what was the start of mass immigration if it wasn't the mass immigration of West Indians?

Weren't they followed by the mass immigration of other people from the Commonwealth?
