They're like a bunch of market traders trying to sell off some tat before the punters realise it's cheaper and better elsewhere. Leave with no deal please!

//the only likely deal will be the one which the EU want. // And it has always been so. Our government should have honoured the result of the referendum from the beginning - fulfilled this country's obligations and waved goodbye.

// Are you a top civil servant Gromit? //

Obviously I am not. Are you?

The lack of progress is plain to see, which is why everyone is frustrated by the slow progress.
If all the eyes had been dotted and tees crossed by now, you would be as happy as larry.

But they haven’t, which is why you getting more paranoid. You think Brexit will be fudged, and you will not get what you want.

The Government should just get on with it. Everyone is fed up with their prevarication and deceit. The longer they bluster and not deliver, the greater the fear that the final deal will not be good for Britain.

If that isn't the product of a sick mind, it's a shameful thing to say.

Idiotic post of the day.
"The dishonourable "just-walk-away" Brexiteers would no doubt have turned their backs on Poland in 1939."

How utterly, utterly ridiculous. Not to say extremely insulting. I don't think I need to say any more on that comment.
it should our terms, and no dictate...after all, the eu need us more then we need them, the whole facade is falling apart, migration thanks to murkel...one woman disaster, but its' so nice to say, all welcome, without asking the german people, but i guess power does elevate ones head..bad move, history teaches us that, altrusim as long as someone else pays, in her case the german public, that she is far from, in an ivory tower.
If they don't know what we want by now then they've opted not to listen. Which would explain their intransigence. We've been clear from day one that we want out but to agree a reasonable win-win trade agreement for the future, and continued involvement in projects etc. where such involvement benefits us both. We also want no mugging attempts as if the EU were owed anything. Also we wish to repspect the agreement of an open border in Ireland for the sake of peace and Irish convenience, even though the EU seem determined to cause strife instead. I don't think it's changed much since the start; save for the continual capitulations from May to EU unreasonable demands.
I don't see what's to negotiate in the first place. We voted to leave, the Leave bill has now been passed into law. Henceforth we should negotiate with divers countries, not the EU as a bloc. If the EU have a problem with the Irish border, let them take it up with the ROI, none of our concern.
I think you’ve nailed it on the head OG.

We have been clear from day one what we want but the EU keep saying no.

What have they actually negotiated? What have they given ground on? From what I have read, nothing. So this negotiation is a farce and should be exited straight away.

Oh and Airbus have no intention of relocating outside the UK.
What is to negotiate starts with the same thing we wish to negotiate with all other nations. An improvement on the WTO basic trade rules. But on top of that, continued involvement in mutually beneficial projects/science/security etc.. No point ruling it out if there's a chance that the EU "negotiators" (and I use the term lightly) may see the light eventually.
I don't normally contribute to this topic because there is a lot more happening behind the scenes which we don't know about. However, my view are the same as 22.36 jackdaw. Just get out and walk away with 'no deal', because the only likely deal will be the one which the EU want.
//the only likely deal will be the one which the EU want. //

And it has always been so. Our government should have honoured the result of the referendum from the beginning - fulfilled this country's obligations and waved goodbye.
I agree entirely naomi.
Thanks Dave.
Just as a point of interest David Cameron tried to do a deal just before the referendum an found his efforts were a waste of time, I think proving that the EU will not negotiate.
Indeed Dave, that said it all. Pity no one involved in the current shambles took note.
Do the Labour supporters on here think that the eurocrats would have been less inflexible and more willing to negotiate had their party been the ones to try to hammer out a deal?
My guess would be that they're secretly breathing a sigh of relief that they're not. So convenient when it's the other side's fault. ;o)
You're not wrong there Naomi.
Totally agree with that ^^^^^^^
