Yes, and hopefully it can be arranged without the government's interference ! Depends how tight his itinerary is ...

Why not? he's met him before, The World did not end.
Thought POTUS and Farage were mates. Why is it anything to do with the government if they want to meet?
///Whitehall sources said........///
///No 10 sources insisted they were 'not even aware of a meeting being requested' adding that 'either way we are not trying to stop one'.///

Contradictory statements.
I suppose your own politics will determine which you believe....
Sounds like a non-story to me. Trump will be on a tight schedule. Why should the government interrupt that for Farage or indeed anyone else.
But when the Wail says ‘it was claimed’ about any story it publishes, I’m always dubious that there’s any substance in it.
This is a State visit so Farage should not be part of the official schedule.

If Trump wants to meet privately with his friend Nigel then that can be arranged between Trump’s people and Farage, and there is nothing No.10 can do about that.

UKIP under Farage has inflicted a lot of damage on the Conservative Party, so it is understandable that May does not want anything to do with him.
Well spotted AOG - Typical Tory Totalitarianism
I don’t believe it is a state visit gromit
Too late. They've already met. The horse has bolted, let the stable door be.
Can't think of any damage Farage has inflicted on the Conservatives. Any damage has been self inflicted since they weren't all listening to the people.
Why not ? Two consenting adults......
I don't think the government can actually prevent them meeting, it can simply not include a meeting in their schedule, nothing more than that.

Another 'non-story' from the Mail.

Why not. It would be interesting to see whether Trump remembers him.
That has to be nonsense. Of course Donald Trump won't be scheduled to meet Farage on his official visit.
Well there you go folks - the oracle has spoken!
maggiebee, who's the oracle?
