Joking aside I think anything that helps prevent this practice is good.

Perhaps though more prosecutions of the parents should be carried out - with appropriate sentences including if possible deportation (after removing any other kids they have - they can stay here in our protection).

Unfortunately so. I was down at the beach the other day, scorchingly hot where there was a family of three. Father was in his trunks very young daughter was in a bathing costume, mother was in full black head to toe with two slits for the eyes. If that wasnt bad enough for the poor woman who must have been literally roasting she was putting his chair up and the small tent thing and blankets etc while he stood there.

I'm sorry but this religion is just awful and has no place in our society and our culture.

Youngmafbog, no one is forced to wear that full length suit and the women I know that are Muslim wear headscarves but have the same make up, pouts, shoes and clothes as the rest of us.

spath, we all do...and that commendable, but some parts of our uk community do not see it that way, either religious or cultural both intertwined islam has a lot to answer for, regarding suppression of women and girls, even less for women and girls not musilm, think of it this way, they treat woman girls as baggage err get back in the kitchen, open your legs.. get it, and even less of western women and girls, its not nice, in fact its ermm despicable.

I think its not the religion but the culture. Muslims across all muslim countries have different ways of behaving and their families have different expectations on how they will behave. Where I live its not uncommon to see girls in jeans and t shirts wearing a hijab.

Now at the airports everyone will be looking at Asian girls in a new light. Especially if they are fidgeting or constantly adjusting their clothes which you would be doing if you had a metal spoon down your pants. Bit of a non starter of an idea now that some of the newspapers are running stories about this .
As I posted previously Asian parents will probably check their children now before getting to the airport.

Even were that true, they are effectively forced due to upbringing and peer/society pressure. If you are taught up is down, left is right, east is south, then you are likely to hold those beliefs fervently as you grow up.
